Third time that week

Third time that week

When life goes wrong, what do you do
Do you shrink back and hide, or try to survive
There may not be a welcome, for you any more
There may not be an open door
But stand tall, stand strong and have belief in yourself

For the parasites may suck you dry
It doesn’t mean you have to wilt and die
Be patience and soon your day will come
When they have to remember you’re the one

If all around you they doubt you.
Be strong and firm, and stand your ground
For life itself is not a dress rehearsal
Just be yourself and they will see
That they can’t undermine thee

When life goes wrong, what do you do
Do you shrink back and hide, or try to survive
There may not be a welcome, for you any more
There may not be an open door
But stand tall, stand strong and have belief in yourself

For the debts may be piling high
It doesn’t mean you have to shrink and cry
Be patience and soon your day will arrive
When they have to remember you’re the one
Just look them square, don’t be hum drum

If your car breaks down for the third time that week
Give it another kick and grit your teeth
Today’s culture is full of gloss, designed to make brains rot
You may be skint and owing rent
Don’t let the bastards sow doubt in you
